Installation sound for “Self,” a multimedia sculptural piece by Tammy Salzl. When a listener approaches to look into the chamber, a pair of embedded stereo speakers trigger this audio for the duration that the person lingers. Inside the chamber, lush mossy greenery covers the interior walls, surrounding a video projection of anxiously twisting human hands.
“Self” is a representation of an artist’s anxiety about their own carbon footprint and material waste.
